Hot Cars and Hot Days – 1st Annual Big Cypress Corvette Show.

June 7th, 2011 by carriagehouse

If you weren’t in Jefferson Texas this weekend, then you missed seeing our brick streets lined with hundreds of Corvettes.  This past weekend was the inaugural weekend of the Big Cypress Corvette Show and it was a big success. We had some guests stay here at the Carriage House B&B from the Lone Star Corvette Club in Dallas (the largest club in the nation) and they were very pleased with how the event turned out. In fact, they said that they were planning on coming back next year if not sooner.

I want to give a great big shout out to our Police Chief, Hollis Shadden, who brought this event to town and to the Marion County Chamber of Commerce for helping organize it. Thank you for bringing such a great event to Jefferson!

They are Big! They are Beautiful! And They are Here This Weekend!

April 15th, 2011 by carriagehouse

Antique cars sitting in front of the Historic Jefferson Hotel

Off in the distance you could hear the rumble and the roar. On trailers and in toy boxes, they arrived.  Polished and shined, they sparkled in the moonlight and glistened in the sunlight. You couldn’t help but stop and stare at the beauty on the street.

If the antique cars are here, then it must be the Outlaw National’s Rod Run & Antique Car Show.   Each April, Jefferson is overtaken by some of the most beautifully restored antique cars you have ever seen.  All of the cars in this year’s car show are ’72s and older.  These cars are vintage and they are amazing.

The Carriage House Bed & Breakfast parking lot has been taken over by these trailers and toy boxes.  As I write this, the proud owners are all out there polishing the chrome and buffing to a gleam.  It is hard for me to believe that these cars could shine more then they already do.  Soon, they will take these babies down to the car show and park them for the world to ooh and ahh over.

If you are in the area this weekend, you have to stop and see these beauties and talk to their proud owners.  I promise you.  They would love to tell you all about them.

Later this weekend (or Monday), I will post some of the pictures from this weekend to the Carriage House B&B’s Facebook page.  Stop by and take a look.
